Why outlandishness?
Why people try to be outlandish? The answer is, wealth and status.
The more man accumulates the more he or she changes. It seems that the extra cash and social status releases some chemicals in the brain and the human lab goes through metamorphosis. All of a sudden the lucky one goes bananas because he was dirt poor and now he is rich. The rush of chemicals into the brain is very hard to control; and in no time one becomes a victim.
Controlling this rush is a skill everyone should learn, but the exercises should start long before one becomes a casualty and not after. Why? Wealth and financial freedom or security produces chemicals of its own kind. The brain processes these substances like incoming drugs. The result can be also addictive. After the loss of wealth, which can happen very fast these days, the earlier produced chemicals seem to not do the job for another set of chemicals now invade the brain. The first rush may have produced elation and deep satisfaction, but the second rush produces its opposites like frustration, pain, low self-esteem and rage. One begins hunt for the lost wealth and any lead to it excites the senses so much that one is willing to break even the law just to get back the lost chemical rush. It is not the getting of wealth, but rather the rush that accompanies it.
Wisdom is never found in complicated ways of thinking, but rather in simplicity, but that simplicity must be lodged deep in one’s heart. On the outside one can be rich to the rich, complex to the complex and difficult to the difficult.
To better portray it let me cite portion of 2 Samuel 22:26-27 “With the kind You show Yourself kind, with the blameless You show Yourself blameless; with the pure You show Yourself pure, and with the perverted You show Yourself astute.”
Horizontally you use the horizontal wisdom, but vertically you are child like. Inside you are innocent and that purity and innocence opened the way for the heavenly wisdom for it has found a worthy lodging place in you.
