Escape from the Communist Army

No one knew what was taking place, Joseph’s brother and sister and friends all knew that the ‘American traveler’ would stay in Poland quite a bit longer. (Usually after the military service and ex-soldier must remain in the country for a minimum of two years. This procedure has something to do with Russian military secrets). They seemed happy that Joseph had failed. Joseph’s mother had just returned from a journey and his father only knew of his son’s military draft. But the Lord knew otherwise.

Finally someone got hold of Joseph telling him that his aunt is very concerned about him. Now this aunt of his was a lady that was being cared for by Joseph’s sister and with whom Joseph stayed from time to time.

[At one time she died and the ambulance did not come to save her. Joseph laid hands on her and brought her back to life. She was already in her late eighties when this awesome miracle took place. The Lord prolonged her life on the earth for which she was grateful and sought ways to be a blessing. In her house Joseph compsed several songs, she was proud to be the gracious hostess of songs born in her house.

[Before the war she was a wealthy woman an owner of one of the larger sugar factories, but the Communist regime had changed all that. The factory and all the real estate, including several villas and summer homes, were confiscated. But she was able to save some gold (dollar) coins, which right before her ‘fortunate’ death she told Joseph about. Life of a person was more precious than gold and aunt knew that she was destined for something special.]

Joseph rushed to his aunt’s home, as he entered she said, “what are you up to?”

"Nothing… what do you mean?"

Then she said: "last night a shiny being entered my room as if from nowhere, leaned over me and said “Joseph needs you. Then the angel disappeared.”

Joseph was stunned. He realized that she was the only one who must hear his secret.

"Aunty, listen to me. I have the passport and visa I’m all set to go to America except…"

"Except what?" Aunt investigated.

"Well, the police made an error and issued me a passport, I am about to run away from the army; all I need is a flight ticket, which costs a lot of money."

"You have it now. Help me with my coat and let’s go." She said.

Both went to the bank where she emptied her bank account.

There was enough money to buy a brand new car.
